In industries such as shearing and fruit harvesting, employers are dissuaded from paying for employee’s Q Fever vaccinations, on the basis that their work force is transient. This, combined with employee’s lack of awareness of the probability and dangers of contracting the disease, means that the employee is unlikely to seek out and pay for such an expensive vaccine.
